Zoom in and Zoom Out!: Engaged af
It’s been less than a month since the seismic shift in our body politic that placed Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the presidential ticket. Since then there have been countless zoom calls led first by #WinWithBlackWomen to begin organizing a grassroots operation needed for Democrats to win. Folks are showing up and getting involved in every way they can to get our democracy over the finish line. Here are 5 ways you can roll up your sleeves and get into the mix NOW:
Sign up for a regular zoom call. The identity led zoom calls may be the key to Harris’s grassroots win! Whether it’s folks with disabilities, white dudes, white women, queer folx and more there is literally a zoom call happening for everyone–and if you can’t find one that speaks to you, create your own!
Join the Harris/Walz campaign. If you have the time and ability and are looking for a role within the campaign check out the openings available here and throw your hat in the ring.
Volunteer! Campaigns don’t run without the legions of volunteers that offer their time, talent and treasure to get candidates across the finish line. Check out the ways you can volunteer here. Also, check out your local democratic chapters and find ways to get involved.
Host an Event! Grab 10 friends and tell them to bring 10 friends and boom you have an event. Raise money, organize canvassing, volunteer to work the polls, but do so as a group and turn it into a party!
Donate! What we know for sure is that money makes campaigns strong. So, if you have the ability to set up a regular donation from now until the election it will go a long way.
Imagine if we all decided to take up the baton and do what we can where we are to ensure that we have our first Madame President… We have the ability to change the course of history. When we fight, we win!
